United Way strives to improve education, encourage healthy lives, and help people achieve financial stability. The 10-year goal for United Way focuses on three major components: education, health, and income. In the education realm, they are striving to cut America’s high school dropout rate in half. To help promote a healthy life, they want to increase by one-third the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors. Finally, they are working to cut in half the number of lower-income families who are financially unstable.
