Family Promise of Greater Orlando

"The mission of Family Promise of Greater Orlando is to mobilize volunteers in the faith community to help homeless families achieve and sustain self-sufficiency and to advocate for adequate housing and support services in Orange and Seminole Counties."

Family Promise of Greater Orlando is a service that provides shelter, transportation, and meals for 90 days. In addition, they provide guests toiletry items, diapers, phone and Internet access, medical and dental care, and budget management. Also, this program is partnered with many churches in the Orlando area. Many religious congregations allow their meeting rooms to be converted into bedrooms for the families.

People help by hosting activities for the congregation, gathering household supplies for guest families, answering phone calls, and helping plan evens. If you enjoy teaching, you can provide budgeting, computer skills or as stated, “anything else you can dream up” educational skills.
